Fire Department membership dues are being prepared to be mailed out. Property owners should be recieving a notice within the next few weeks. Knifley Fire Department membership dues are $25.00 per property owner. Dues can be mailed to KAVFD, 6130 Elkhorn Road, Knifley, KY 42753 or dropped off at any of the country stores in the area as well paid to any Knifley Firefighter. The cost for a non-member fire run is $500.00. For further information see bottom of page for contact information.

The mission of the Knifley Area Volunteer Fire Department is to minimize loss of life and property from fire, natural disasters, life threatening situations and to assist other emergency agencies. The Knifley Area Volunteer Fire Department is committed to providing responsible municipal service in an open, effective and efficient manner to all citizens of the local and area communities North and North East of the Green River. KENTUCKY FOREST FIRE HAZARD SEASONS ARE:

FEBRUARY 15 THROUGH APRIL 30 & OCTOBER 1 THROUGH DECEMBER 15.

During the forest fire harzard seasons, even though the precautions required by KRS 149.375 have been taken, it is unlawful for any person to:

set fire to, or to procure another to set fire to, any flammable material capable of spreading fire, located in or within one hundred fifty feet (150') of any woodland or brushland, except between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., prevailing local time, or when the ground is covered with snow.

REMEMBER, ALL FIRES SHOULD BE ATTENDED UNTIL EXTINGUISHED!
